Blanket Chests

Features:
  • All chests are made with dovetailed
    construction.  The tops have breadboard ends
    that are miter jointed with the front edge.

  • All chest lids come with anti-closer hardware
    to protect against injury (especially to little
    fingers), unless a period style chest is desired.

  • Bottoms are lined with aromatic cedar (unless
    not desired).

  • Available in cherry, oak, maple or other
    species.

  • There are no set dimensions for the blanket
    chests, allowing for individual needs.


Styles available:
  • large chest with two drawers

  • small chest with one large drawer

  • large or small chests with no drawers

  • till compartment also available


ALSO AVAILABLE:
  • Chests can be made in period style out of pine
    or poplar and finished with milk paint.

  • Blanket or Dowry Chests can be made
    unfinished in pine or poplar to allow you to
    custom paint or stencil the chests as you wish.

Six Board Chest
This chest style is based on a traditional 18th century design that would have
originally been made from six solid boards (no glue ups).  It is made from
pine and is finished with traditional milk paint.  It has a till on the left side
and the lid is supported by a small chain.  The ends and sides are held
together with square nails.
